Palin Pranked by Candidian DJs
Sarah Palin is truly stupid! A couple DJs from a Canadian radio station pranked her by pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Palin is so inexperienced that she truly believed another foreign president, particularly one from a "socialist" nation, would call her during this campaign! Listen to the audio [here]. Palin's the Socialist Both Palin and McCain, in their desperation, have chided Democrats for socialistic policies. Yet here are the facts: The state that Palin governs has no income or sales tax. Instead, it imposes huge levies on the oil companies that lease its oil fields. The proceeds finance the government's activities and enable it to issue a four-figure annual check to every man, woman, and child in the state. One of the reasons Palin has been a popular governor is that she added an extra twelve hundred dollars to this year's check, bringing the per-person total to $3,269. A few weeks before she was nominated for Vice-President, she told Philip Gourevitch (The New Yorker) that "we're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs." Perhaps there is some meaningful distinction between spreading the wealth and sharing it ("collectively," no less), but finding it would require the analytic skills of Karl the Marxist. [source] McCain Camp Fed Up With Palin Tensions within the McCain-Palin campaign are spilling into the public. A McCain aide told reporters that Gov. Palin is a "diva" and several McCain advisers said they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue." Another described Palin as "a whack job." McCain's staff said Palin appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign: "She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone. She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else. Also she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: divas trust only unto themselves as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom." [source] We knew since Palin first appeared on stage that she wasn't really a hockey mom. She's a Black Widow spider who wears lipstick! Palin's Inflated Ego Further Exposed Palin, who claims to be a "real American" woman, used Republican campaign money to pay Amy Strozzi $22,800 for two weeks of work in October -- to do Palin's makeup. Apparently, Strozzi is Palin's highest paid staff member. Since Palin can see Russia and doesn't need help on foreign policy, we can understand why looking good is her top priority! McCain & Palin's Real America Rep. Robin Hayes, a five-term Republican, speaking at a McCain rally, said, "Liberals hate real Americans that work and achieve and believe in God." I want to go on record here that I am a "real" American. My liberal friends are real as well. We all work hard. We are achievers. We do differ from Mr. Hayes, as we prefer to keep our faith to ourselves. When asked about their falling poll numbers, Palin stressed she was "not discouraged at all ... And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God's hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4 ... I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it." Jesus commanded differently: Matthew 6: [5] And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. [6] But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. [7] And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. [8] Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Palin told supporters she only likes to travel to "Pro-America parts of this great nation." "We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation." Hockey Mom & $150,000 in Lipstick The McCain strategy to use Palin to fool Americans has been relatively successful -- due to millions of weak minded citizens. Palin told Americans she was a regular person. Yet the Republican National Committee spent, in one month, more than $150,000 to make Palin real, by buying her and her family clothes and accessorize. Is this how "real Americans" live? Saks Fifth Avenue: $49,425.74. Neiman Marcus: $75,062.63. Hair and makeup: $4,716.49. Sarah Palin the Closet Socialist Palin has been name calling over the last two weeks. In one false charge, she accused Obama, Biden and Democrats of furthering socialism. Yet Palin and her family received $3,269 per person in 2008 from a socialistic program in Alaska, enhanced by Gov. Palin, that takes wealth from oil and gas companies and redistributes it to state residents. The total to the Palin family: $22,883 As governor, Palin charged the citizens of Alaska over $21,000 for her children to travel with her, including events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business. [source] Palin also billed Alaska's taxpayers for 312 nights she spent -- in her own home -- during her first 19 months in office. The cost for her and her family has exceeded $43,000. [source] It's okay to lie if one is a Republican! Lost All Your Money? Since 1929 Republicans and Democrats have each controlled the presidency for nearly 40 years. So which party has been better for American pocketbooks and capitalism as a whole? Imagine that during these years you had invested exclusively under either Democratic or Republican administrations. How would you have fared? As of Friday a $10,000 investment in the S&P index would have grown to $11,733 if invested under Republican presidents only ($51,211 if we exclude Herbert Hoover's presidency). Invested under Democratic presidents only, $10,000 would have grown to $300,671. [source] Keep in mind the top ONE percent most wealthy Americans hauled in more than 21 percent of all personal income in 2005. You pay -- so they can play. How do you feel about bailing out Wall Street now? Sarah Palin Guilty "I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110 (a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act," investigator Steve Branchflower concluded in the panel's 263-page report. Palin's efforts to get Wooten fired broke a state ethics law that bars public officials from pursuing personal interest through official action. Palin told reporters over the weekend she had been "cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there." Really? Now she lies about the findings of the committee. Palin is relatively unknown. We know learn of her character. John Glass, Alaska's deputy commissioner of public safety, former police chief of Wasilla, and snowmobiling friend of Todd Palin, warned the Palins about getting personally involved. Todd Palin testified to investigators that Glass had told him, "I'm telling you as a friend, I love the governor, but I am telling you, stay away from this Wooten situation." [source] McCain campaign reacts: "This was a partisan-led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern." They were warned by friends, yet the Palins persisted. Now, Palin and McCain refuse to accept responsibility and instead try to blame Obama supporters. Obama supporters (and the rest of the U.S.) hadn't heard of Sarah Palin until August 29th, long after this bipartisan investigation began, and long after Sarah Palin promised to cooperate, a promise she later broke. Life Not Fair to McCain and Palin John McCain told FOX on Thursday, 10.2.08, he is currently losing to Barack Obama, "because life isn't fair." Is it fair to you that McCain has ten homes, which he got by having an affair on his disabled wife and dumping her for a rich heiress? Is it fair to you that McCain supported a flawed Iraq war plan that will eventually cost tax payers over $3 trillion? Or that McCain supported decades of financial deregulation that allowed greedy Wall Street brokers to destroy the value of your home and 401(k)? John, this isn't all about you! Life is unfair to millions of people. Stop being such a cry baby. Fannie and Freddie Faux Pas John McCain has been campaigning recently as a critic of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their lobbying army that helped them evade greater regulation as they began buying riskier mortgages with implicit federal backing. Yet McCain’s campaign manager and longtime adviser, Rick Davis, was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years (over $2 million) as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to defend them against stricter regulations, current and former officials say. [source] Female Voters -- Wake Up! Alaska has the worst record of any state in rape and murder of women by men. The rape rate in Alaska is 2.5 times the national average. When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, her policy required women to pay for their own rape examinations -- rape exam kits -- which experts said can cost up to $1,000. The Alaska legislature in 2000, overruling Palin, finally banned the practice of charging women for the kits. If you are raped, Sarah Palin will charge you for the exam. If you are raped by a sicko, psychopathic killer and become pregnant, Sarah Palin demands that you keep the baby ... and, you support her? Get a clue! How Many Lies Must We Endure? Time recently ran a story titled, "John McCain and the Lying Game." [source] Author Joe Klein writes: The McCain camp has decided that its candidate can't win honorably, on the issues, so it has resorted to transparent and phony diversions ... John McCain has raised serious questions about whether he has the character to lead the nation. He has defaced his beloved military code of honor. He has run a dirty campaign. We have made it clear that we respected John McCain; honored his service to our country. We simply disagreed with his political ideology. We no longer admire John McCain -- we do not respect liars! Klein lists just a few of McCain's lies: McCain claims Barack Obama favors a government-run health-care system. McCain is not telling the truth -- Obama wants a market-based system subsidized by the government. After 38 million Americans heard Obama say in his speech at the Democratic National Convention that he was open to offshore oil-drilling and building new nuclear-power plants, McCain lied in his acceptance speech by saying that Obama opposed both. McCain ran a TV ad claiming Obama favored "comprehensive" sex education for kindergartners, while Obama actually favored a bill that would protect kindergartners by warning them about sexual predators and improper touching. On Sept. 18th, McCain attacked Obama over his handling of the financial crisis, criticizing the Illinois senator and his party's congressional leadership for delaying a solution until after the election. McCain's criticism comes just two days after McCain's own domestic policy adviser said a complete plan from the Republican presidential nominee would not be revealed until he was in the White House. McCain also told that same audience that "Sen. Obama's own advisers are saying that the crisis will benefit him politically." Yet a McCain spokesman could not point to any specific instance of an Obama adviser or surrogate making such a comment about the Wall Street crisis in recent days. Unbelievable! [source] Yes, John McCain has defaced his beloved military code of honor. He has run a lying campaign. The Ignorance of Sarah Palin Exposed ... in her first major interview: Charlie Gibson: Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine? Sarah Palin: In what respect, Charlie? Charlie: What do you interpret it to be? Palin: His worldview. We see why John McCain has kept Palin in hiding, as he knows that she is unprepared to play on the national stage. We do not blame Sarah Palin. It's a great honor to run for vice president. We are disappointed in John McCain for telling us she is ready to direct this nation. Facing a deeply struggling economy and our military bogged down in two wars, we need competent leadership. Palin thinks the Bush Doctrine is a "worldview." Palin is clueless, yet Republicans may win! White males are only concerned about low taxes, even though our government is going bankrupt. Social conservatives want only to ban abortion and take away a women's right to control her own body. And, hard core military types simply want to bomb anyone they can, particularly Iran and Russia. This isn't about leadership, good judgment or loving the USA. American politics is about power and domination -- and, frankly, the Republicans are kicking the sh*t out of Democrats. Liberals are good people who want to build a better world. Who cares about that? Fear is simply too attractive for the uneducated masses! What is the difference between Sarah Palin and an Islamic fundamentalist? ... Lipstick. John McCain said he was running for president to confront "radical Islamic extremism," contrasting it with "stability, tolerance and democracy." But the values of Palin resemble Islamic extremists more than they do our Founding Fathers. On censorship, teaching creationism in schools, reproductive rights, attributing government policy to God's will and climate change, Palin is in line with Iran's theocrats, the terrorist group Hamas, and Usama bin Laden Wahhabism. [story] Although Christian Fundamentalists appear giddy about Sarah Palin, they should support Barack: the Bible tells them so [story] Who's the real father of Bristol Palin's baby?
In this YouTube video, we hear a young man, Kevin, who's from Los Angeles, tell the world he is the father of Bristol Palin's baby. While there may be an eventual dispute over the custody of the child, it's clear Bristol was a bit more sexually active than we were led to believe.
This is what happens when a "pit bull wearing lipstip" tries to be SuperMom. Having four (five?) children, a Special Needs grandchild, and carrying out the duties of a governor wrecks havok on family life. Apparently Bristol looked elsewhere for love. Republicans don't want us to talk about Sarah Palin's family, claiming that children are off limits: "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father." ~John McCain, 1998, at a Republican Senate fund-raiser. Chelsea would have been about 17-18 at the time. McCain beat up on a kid to make himself more attractive to his political base. Nobody is attacking Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol. She's 17 years of age, pregnant and unmarried. Her current boyfriend is crude and immature. Her mother wants to be Vice President of the United States. Yet mommy doesn't appear to have control over her family! Sarah Palin thrust her children into the spotlight, not liberals. It is simply staggering what the Republican party hopes Americans will accept. John McCain is running an "America First" campaign, but Sarah Palin is not in the best interst of America. Her only asset is that she energizes the extreme Christian right. Sarah Palin LIED to the nation in her acceptance speech Wednesday night: PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere." THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, Palin's opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere." "Palin said Alaska's congressional delegation worked hard to obtain funding for the bridge as part of a package deal and that she 'would not stand in the way' of the progress toward that bridge." ~Ketchikan Daily News 9/2006
Wasilla had received few if any earmarks before Palin became mayor. She actively sought federal funds -- a campaign that began to pay off only after she hired a lobbyist with close ties to Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), who long controlled federal spending as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He made funneling money to Alaska his hallmark. Alaska, by the way, ranked #1 in earmarks last year. Sarah Palin is clearly ready to be on the GOP ticket ... she has the lying thing down pat. Palin wants to teach the Bible in schools and ban books from public libraries. She is anti-gay (opposes spousal rights for gay couples); anti-choice (opposing exceptions for rape and incest); anti-contraception; opposed to stem cell research; opposed to sex education and an abstinence only advocate. Palin is intensely partisan and fires those around her who aren't loyal to her Republican ideology or her version of Christianity. Meet the real Sarah Palin Palin has absolutely no foreign policy experience; no training on terrorism or military strategy. Her husband works for BP (British Petroleum) -- another oil family! How is this good for America? What does this say about McCain's leadership and judgment? Three times in recent years, McCain's catalogs of "objectionable" spending have included earmarks for a small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time -- Sarah Palin. I still hear from conservatives who despise Bill Clinton because of his affair with Monica. John McCain had an affair and lied to the public about it. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license to wed Cindy Hensley on March 6, 1980 while still legally married -- and living with -- his first wife, Carol. Republicans do not question McCain's integrity or morals. John McCain left Carol, who had been tragically disfigured in a car accident, after an adulterous affair with Cindy, a beautiful young heiress to a fortune from an Arizona business. Cindy became addicted to pain killers and stole from her medical charity to feed her habit. "My marriage ended because John McCain didn't want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens ... it just does," the first Mrs. McCain, Carol, said afterwards. Sarah Palin makes no apologies for being anti-choice, anti-sex education and an abstinence only advocate. We have learned that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is unmarried and pregnant. Apparently Palin still believes that abstinence only is effective public policy. But what type of young man is Bristol's lover? What does this underage pregnancy and lack of parental supervision tell us about this potential vice president? Levi Johnston, shown below, boasts on his MySpace page, "I'm a fuckin' redneck" who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes.
"But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some shit and just fuckin' chillin' I guess." "Ya fuck with me I'll kick [your] ass," he added. He claims to be "in a relationship," but states, "I don't want kids." NY POST ONLINE These are examples of the "values" that Sarah Palin, possible President of the United States, has instilled in her pregnant daughter and family. |
Barack's Closing Argument
After decades of broken politics in Washington, eight years of failed policies from George Bush, and twenty-one months of a campaign that has taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are one week away from change in America.
In one week, you can turn the page on policies that have put the greed and irresponsibility of Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. Read Mr. Obama's Address
Republican Colin Powell Endorses Obama
Barack is a transformational figure... Barack is the leader America needs now... Barack is ready to be president... McCain unsure on economy... Selection of Gov. Palin questions McCain's judgment View Mr. Powell's Comments Are You Weak Minded? Palin Takes Away Your Choice and Gives It To GovernmentIf you listen to John McCain, he tells us that we need to reduce government's role in our lives. Yet his VP, Sarah Palin, wants to take away your right to choose and replace it with government. One is lying... I was raped. And then I got pregnant. Sarah Palin believes the Government should be able to force me to carry the pregnancy to term. Sarah Palin believes the Government should make that choice, not me. Governor Palin, I didn't have a choice about being raped. But I should have a choice about this. Conservatives: Enough of McCain Christopher Buckley, son of conservative icon William F. Buckley, resigned from the conservative National Review days after endorsing Barack Obama's White House bid. "While I regret this development, I am not in mourning, for I no longer have any clear idea what, exactly, the modern conservative movement stands for." "Eight years of 'conservative' government has brought us a doubled national debt, ruinous expansion of entitlement programs, bridges to nowhere, poster boy Jack Abramoff and an ill-premised, ill-waged war conducted by politicians of breathtaking arrogance." CNN ONLINE Lies & Smears, Not Issues McCain supporters would rather lie about Barack Obama than make the case to the American people why Senator McCain's plans of continuing Bush's policies for another four years would be good for American families. This is how a failing campaign acts. Haven't we had enough of smears and distractions? Weak minded people fall for false and negative campaigning. Will you? Erratic McCain Conservative columnist, George Will, writes in his commentary (9.23.08) that John McCain has lost his head: "Under the pressure of the financial crisis, one presidential candidate [John McCain] is behaving like a flustered rookie playing in a league too high." Will criticizes McCain for "furiously, and apparently without even looking around at facts," demanding that SEC chairman, Chris Cox, be fired. Will points out that McCain's "childish reflex" provoked the Wall Street Journal to call McCain "untethered and disconnected from knowledge and principle." The Journal considers McCain's attack to be "false and deeply unfair ... unpresidential." [source] This is similar to McCain's rush to war against Iraq. Is this the type of leader America needs when facing multiple national challenges? Only a weak minded voter could support McCain. Continuing America's Addiction How come we need a lifelong Republican to point out that his party's new mantra -- "Drill, baby, drill!" -- won't fix anything and that John McCain is clueless about energy? Matt Simmons, an oil industry expert, who helped design the Bush energy plan furthered by Cheney's secret Energy Task Force says: "John McCain is energy illiterate. He's just witless about this stuff. As a lifelong Republican, I'm supporting Obama. McCain believes, 'Oh, we're going to wean ourselves off foreign oil in four years and build 45 nuclear plants by 2030.' He doesn't have a clue." "What a hypocrite [McCain is]. Here's a man who for at least the past 15 years has strenuously, I mean strenuously, opposed offshore drilling. And now it's 'drill, drill, drill.' And he doesn't have any idea that we don't have any drilling rigs. Or that we don't have any idea of exactly where to drill." [source] Weak minded Republicans are running around chanting, "drill, baby, drill!" Are you also? Financial Deception Andy Serwer and Allan Sloan, writing in Time, note, "the four most dangerous words in the world for your financial health are 'This time, it's different.' It's never different. It's always the same, but with bigger numbers." [source] Although John McCain voted with George W. Bush over 90 percent of the time, including deregulating America's financial industry -- and endorsing Bush in the 2004 presidential campaign -- McCain now says, "This time, it's different." He promises to change his ways, rally against his lifelong Republican allies, and oppose their flawed ideology. If you believe this, you are clearly weak minded! McCain's History of Destruction Just weeks ago John McCain told Americans the U.S. economy is "fundamentally sound." The Bush administration is now asking for $700 billion, more than the cost of the Iraq war to date, to save and bailout the financial industry. Divided across the population, it amounts to more than $2,000 for every man, woman and child in the U.S. This new borrowing also raises the national debt ceiling to $11.3 trillion. It was about $5 trillion when Bill Clinton left office. Borrow and Spend Republicans! The current crisis flows from the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal of the 80s. Charles Keating's bank went broke because of risky, unregulated investments. It wiped out depositor savings and cost taxpayers more than $3 billion. More than 1,000 other S&Ls collapsed nationwide costing taxpayers over $125 billion more. John McCain was one of the Keating Five. Keating and other members of Lincoln's parent company padded McCain's pockets with $112,000 in campaign contributions. You're a Whiner! ![]() Do you remember the guy in the photo (left) with John McCain? That's Phil Gramm. He is John McCain's financial advisor. Gramm recently said the recession was simply "in your head" and that people who claim to be hurting finacially were just "whiners." John McCain called his friend, and campaign co-chair, "one of the smartest people in the world on the economy." Gramm led the effort to change banking rules, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999. SEC Chairman, Arthur Levitt, argued at the time that what the financial and banking industry needed was more transparency -- not less -- especially when it came to complex instruments like credit default swaps. He had testified before Gramm's Senate Banking Committee: "In my judgment, the risk of this regulatory approach is simply unacceptable for America's investors." --Arthur Levitt, 1999 Gramm's legislation served to slash government regulations, which had been in existence since the Great Depression and separated banking, insurance and brokerage activities ... legislation that has now led to the greatest destruction of financial wealth the world has ever seen! [source] Greatest Financial Destruction Ever Due to John McCain, George W. Bush, and their Republican partners: We are witnessing what "may be the greatest destruction of financial wealth that the world has ever seen -- paper losses measured in the trillions of dollars. Corporate wealth. Oil wealth. Real estate wealth. Bank wealth. Private-equity wealth. Hedge fund wealth. Pension wealth. It's a painful reminder that, when you strip away all the complexity and trappings from the magnificent new global infrastructure, finance is still a confidence game -- and once the confidence goes, there's no telling when the selling will stop." [source] Failure of Epic Proportions John McCain, whose senior staff includes half a dozen prominent former lobbyists, bragged recently, "I was chairman of the [Senate] Commerce Committee that oversights every part of the economy." McCain's irresponsible deregulation was an oversight of epic proportions. Income inequality has increased, as the rich have gotten windfalls while the middle class has seen incomes stagnate. Fewer and fewer of your citizens have access to affordable housing, healthcare or security in retirement. Even life expectancy has dropped. And when your economic woes went from chronic to acute, you responded -- like so many Third World states have -- with an extensive program of nationalizing private companies and assets. Your mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are now state owned and controlled, and this week your reinsurance giant AIG was effectively nationalized, with the Federal Reserve Board seizing an 80 percent equity stake in the flailing company. Some might deride this as socialism. [source] Palin, A Pathetic Phony! Palin likes to tell voters how she put the government checkbook online in Alaska. She promises to do the same in Washington. "As Alaska's governor, I put the government's checkbook online so that people can see where their money’s going. We'll bring that kind of transparency, that responsibility, and accountability back. We’re going to bring that back to D.C." There's one problem with proposing to put the federal checkbook online -- somebody’s already done it -- Barack Obama. In 2006 and 2007, Obama teamed up with Republican Sen. Tom Coburn to pass the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, known as "Google for Government." The act created a free, searchable web site -- USASpending.gov -- that discloses all federal grants, contracts, loans and insurance payments. [source] Making America Stupid The campaign John McCain decided to run ... is a campaign now built on turning everything possible into a cultural wedge issue, including even energy policy, no matter how stupid it makes the voters and no matter how much it might weaken America. [source] Truth in SNL Humor Senator Obama in Dover, N.H., Sept. 12: "[McCain's] plan gives absolutely nothing to about 100 million American households. I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes. And my opponent can't make that pledge, and here's why. For the first time in American history, John McCain wants to tax your health-care benefits. Apparently, Senator McCain doesn't think it's enough that health care premiums have doubled, he thinks that you should have to pay taxes on them, too. That's a $3.6 trillion tax increase potentially on middle-class families. And that would eventually leave tens of millions of you paying higher taxes or losing your benefits. That's his idea of change." Watch Barack's NH, September 12th Speech What's Up With the McCain Lies? The McCain campaign said Gov. Palin opposed the bridge to nowhere, but now we know she supported it. They said she didn't seek earmarks, but now we know she hired a lobbyist to get millions in pork for her town and her state. They said she visited Iraq, but today we learned that she only stopped at the border. Americans are starting to wonder, is there anything the McCain campaign isn't lying about? John McCain, a man who has been in Washington for over 26 years and voted with Bush 90 percent of the time -- supporting Bush on Iraq and on Bush's disasterous economic policies -- now tells the nation the problem is Republicans (HA! We know that, Senator). Yet in a mind-boggling slight of hand, McCain claims the solution is -- wait, wait, wait -- more Republican leadership. Amazing! This is why John McCain and leading conservatives are working overtime to characterize Barack Obama as inexperienced, a celebrity and an elitist. They've distorted his background and furthered a familiar lie -- Barack will TAX you! Republicans chant "tax and spend Democrats." Millions join the chorus because they're weak minded. Looking specifically at the tax issue, Barack will cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans. He will only tax those who take home over $250,000 per year. The most rich don't want you to know the truth -- because they have been getting a easy ride under George W. Bush -- at your expense.
Conservatives rely on these abhorent tactics of character assassination, smears and divisive politics for years. They are successful because too many Americans are weak minded. They refuse to take even a few minutes to learn the facts for themselves. Are you one of these people? Do you know Barack Obama? Watch Barack's Acceptance Speech Because of the failed Bush policies, we must raise taxes. You can shoulder this burden or we can tax those who can best afford it. The federal deficit is exploading. In July 2008 alone the national debt increased by more than $102 billion. This is nearly triple the debt created by the Bush administration in July 2007. So far this year, the federal deficit has exceeded $371 billion. This run-away deficit spending makes our dollar less valuable -- and causes products outside the U.S. (such as oil) to cost more. The high price of gas is a hidden tax on each of us courtesy of George W. Bush and John McCain. Due to high gas prices, John McCain preaches, "Drill, drill, drill" and Republicans applaud. Once again, these are simply weak minded individuals. Lifting the ban on offshore exploration posses serious risks of damage to the U.S. coastline (our home), yet it will be 5-10 years before the oil will make it to the market. More drilling will not reduce the price of gasoline. Oil is running out; we need new sources of energy. Barack will champion this change, as we move from the 20th century oil economy into the 21st century where we depend on renewable sources such as wind power and solar energy. How can so many Americans hold mistaken notions about the potential impact of offshore drilling on gasoline prices? This is similar to the high percent of Americans who believed -- erroneously -- that Iraq and Saddam Hussein had something to do with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Republicans use a "WIN AT ANY COST" strategy that relies on an ignorant and weak minded electorate to be successful. They work to paint Obama as out of touch, inexperienced and different from you (you know, Black!). They hope to increase your fear. Sadly, millions of Americans are unable to separate fact from fiction. Can you? McCain unrepentently supported the war against Iraq, which shows his poor judgment in foreign matters; he supports the Bush tax cuts for the very, very rich as well as Bush's disasterous economic policies. Since McCain and Republicans cannot win on the issues, they mock the character of their opponents in order to win. Your ignorance allows this! McCain and Republicans are lampooning Obama because he suggested we could conserve as much oil as their offshore drilling plans if all of us simply inflated our tires properly and took our cars in for regular tune-ups. Rush Limbaugh is going crazy; the Republican National Committee is sending tire gauges labeled "Barack Obama's Energy Plan" to reporters.
Your future is too important for childish games, yet this Republican strategy continues to work -- because YOU are weak minded! The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. This would increase our supplies -- in 20 years -- by about ONE percent. Auto experts show that properly inflated tires can improve gas mileage by THREE percent; regular auto maintenance can add another FOUR percent. [1] In other words: Obama is right. We can do more here at home. And, every bit reduces our dependence on foreign dictators, keeps dollars here in the U.S., and helps reduce global warming. How come Republicans are so out of touch? Are you as well?
